Summer Stories – Crate Paper June Creative Weekly (Polka Dots)

Summer Stories

Every month, I get terribly excited about Crate Paper Creative Weekly because of it’s theme component. This month’s theme, ‘dots’, offered the chance to work with a multitude of Crate Paper collections, old & new. I wanted to make a simple, light-hearted Summer layout, so I based it on a adventuresome trip with my lil’ brothers to Lombang Beach, Madura, East Java – Indonesia. I always choose my color scheme according to the pictures on display. This time, it’s blue and aqua devoted to dots and my lil’ brothers. I started by spraying cool aqua acrylic mist onto white cardstock. I then used my circle punches to make two different sized dots from Little Boy Blue patterned paper. I adhered them randomly to the cardstock using a mix of pop-dots and wet adhesive. I cropped the pictures using a circle punch, and really like the look because it lends a nice break from the standard square photo shape. Finally, to make the layout absolutely perfect, I embellished it with dot stickers, blue ribbons, chipboard, tags and buttons. Happy Summer to all of you!

Enjoy the details of my dotty layout!
